David Bouchard is an Ojibway storyteller, bestselling author, educator, and a recipient of the Order of Canada for his contribution as an author of children's books. We Learn from the Sun is a rhyming poem based on David's bestselling book, Seven Sacred Teachings. This richly coloured picture book, illustrated by Métis artist Kristy Cameron, weaves together Woodland style paintings with a rhythmic poem about the spiritual lessons that we can learn from the sun and the Seven Sacred Teachings. This book was selected as a First Nation Communities READ longlist title for 2021.
